Developer grants

The DFINITY Foundation is the main contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain. DFINITY offers a developer grants program with the aim to catalyze the growth of the Internet Computer ecosystem and make it more accessible and approachable for developers worldwide by providing support to promising individuals and teams.

The developer grants program is non-dilutive and designed to support open source projects and foundational infrastructure. Developers can apply for grants in the amounts of $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, and—on a case-by-case basis—$100,000. These grants are paid out in ICP tokens after completion of defined project milestones, and are not issued up front. Smaller grants ($5k and $10k) are typically scoped for 1–2 months of work, while larger grants (up to $25k or $100k) cover project timelines up to 4–6 months.

Grants are available across several categories, including canister development kits (CDKs), developer tooling, infrastructure, API integrations, and open internet services. Projects are expected to focus on technical contributions and exclude areas such as token sales, marketing, mockups-only work, and NFT drops without technical depth.
